Provisions on the hours and working patterns of qualified staff, including the work cycle, overtime, breaks, penalty interest, shiftwork and flexible working hours, are set out in the QuT (professional staff) – Part C. company agreement unless flexible working time arrangements are introduced. Applications must be submitted to the Dean of the Faculty Office/Head of Department/Director General of the Institute in the format required for applications to the Continuing Education Program (B/12.7 for academic staff and B/12.8 for professional staff). The Dean Director of the Faculty / Head of Department / Director General of the Institute will forward the request to the Committee responsible for professional development if necessary. Specialized staff employed on a casual basis may apply to be converted into permanent or temporary employment (including part-time and part-time employment). This policy applies to all employees who are employed under the Company Agreement for Professional Personnel. The variable work schedule allows supervisors and employees to negotiate a flexible work model within the existing working time range. Regular flexible working hours outside the normal working hours of a staff member may be agreed in accordance with the provisions of B/7.1.5. All QUT professionals may participate in the variable working time regulation under the following conditions: Updated in accordance with the applicable collective agreements For all other professionals, this regulation may be initiated either by the official or by the supervisor and may only be introduced after consultation and agreement between the supervisor of the organisational unit and any staff member concerned. (f) Where an agreement is reached on a change in working time, it shall be recorded in writing by the supervisor and the competent agent. A copy of the agreement will be provided to the employee. Conversion can be a semester or a part-time job, but is not required. The conversion of a casual employee to semi-annual or part-time employment may occur if the work was performed by casual employees on that basis or otherwise by appointment due to habit and practice. The University may require appropriate evidence from a licensed health professional from other staff members of high-risk groups. In such circumstances, reasonable notice will be given, but no later than four (4) weeks before the commencement of any change in working hours. This policy applies to authorized casual staff. However, an application may be rejected for valid reasons.
